Scratch Tutorial – Sensing other objects
Difficulty: Intermediate
This tutorial is the beginning of how you can have your animation or game take on more of a realistic feel. Sprites (eg graphics) don’t know each other exist in your work. As a programmer, you have to tell them this. To get this done with Scratch, there are a series of coding blocks that allow for sensing.
Previous: Working with Broadcast
Next: Using The Pen

Now that you reviewed the tutorial, let’s see if you can do the following as one animation:
-
Create a collision with two sprites
-
Use two sprites and make them move with loops
-
Have them sense each other and collide
-
When they collide, have them bounced back 180 degrees
-
EXTRA: Have one go faster than the other
